All committees and the Board of Directors are comprised of parents, volunteering their time and efforts to make Interlake a better space.

Board of Directors

Objective: to steer the overall mission, vision, and values of Interlake. This group of parents and community members motivates and guides the committees, and supports the Executive Director to realize Interlake’s mission statement. The Board meets once a month to go over agenda and action items.

Family Committees

Community Engagement Committee:

Objective: This committee is responsible for strengthening the sense of community at ICC by sharing frequent updates on school happenings and setting up opportunities for everyone to get together! The specific responsibilities include planning family engagement events, teacher appreciation week, quarterly bulletins, and facilitating feedback from families as needed.

DEIAB Committee:

Objective: This committee supports an inclusive environment at ICC through policy review and educational opportunities, with the goal of improved sense of belonging for all ICC community members. While members of this committee are not experts in diversity, equity, inclusion, access, and belonging (DEIAB) issues, they work together to understand best practices and advance these issues within the ICC community.

Facilities & Technology Committee:

Objective: The ICC facility is quirky and beloved; this committee’s goal is to support administrative staff to ensure a safe, functional space. This committee contributes to facilities and technology maintenance, manages list of preferred vendors / family resources, and coordinates needed projects with the administrative team and board.

Financial Planning Committee:

Objective: The Financial Planning Committee assists the Board of Directors and Administration in monitoring the financial health of Interlake Childcare Center. The committee will review monthly financial statements prepared by our outside Accountant, assist the Executive Director in developing the Annual Operating Budget, and conduct special projects to ensure ICC uses its financial resources wisely.

Fundraising Committee: 

Objective: The Fundraising Committee supports ICC by developing sources of income outside of tuition while enhancing community connectivity. This committee is responsible for organizing fundraising events, coordinating outreach to the ICC and broader community for the purpose of donations, and showing appreciation for those who donate. Specific fundraising responsibilities include but are not limited to auctions, identifying corporate match opportunities in the ICC community, grant seeking, and staff appreciation gifts.
