All committees and the Board of Directors are comprised of parents, volunteering their time and efforts to make Interlake a better space.
Contact our board (interlakechildcareboard@googlegroups.com) or our administrative team (admin@interlakechildcare.org) for information on joining our committees, including the Board of Directors.
Board of Directors
Objective: to steer the overall mission, vision, and values of Interlake. They help motivate and guide the committees, and support the Executive Director to realize Interlake’s mission statement. The Board meets once a month to go over agenda and action items.
Family Committees
Communications and Community Engagement Committee:
Objective: to plan family engagement activities in conjunction with the admin team. They are responsible for creating engagement opportunities, promoting events, and sharing what’s happening within and around our wonderful community!
Facilities Committee:
Objective: to maintain Interlake’s facility and classrooms. They oversee requested tasks and provide input on how best to complete said projects, ranging from routine maintenance to home improvement
Fundraising and Staff Appreciation Committee:
Objective: to help families and the larger Seattle community support Interlake with engaging fundraising opportunities. A large part of fundraising is showing appreciation to those who make Interlake unique! As such, the second goal of this task force is to extend appreciation to the teachers and staff of Interlake along with those in the community who support us.
Finances and Business Planning Committee:
Objective: to help make Interlake successful by driving our long term business plan (building renovation, grant seeking, etc). Potential focus areas for this committee include advising the Executive Director and Board Treasurer on annual budget plan, preparing and providing ongoing updates to Interlake’s business plan, and investigating and documenting options for major business plans.
