Board of Directors

Interlake is a 501(c)3, non-profit, child care center that is governed by a Board of Directors.  Our Board of Directors is composed of current and former parents and community members.

Board Officers (2025-2026)

Officers are elected to hold positions for two year terms, and maintain oversight over business operations of childcare center. The Board votes to set policy, and holds the Executive Director accountable.

President, Kate Bowers

Kate provides leadership to the Board of Directors, including acting as the Chair of meetings, appointing Board Liaisons, overseeing financial planning and fundraising, and serving as the main point of contact/evaluation for the Executive Director

Vice President, Sarah Ninivaggi

Sarah shadows the Board President, and steps in to perform the President's responsibilities when the President cannot be available. They also serve as committee coordinator and work with the President to create officer transition plans.

Secretary, Keisha Childers

Keisha maintains the records of the Board and ensures effective management of Interlake's records, including the Board meeting minutes and Interlake's articles and by-laws.

Treasurer, James Robinson

James monitors Interlake's finances and oversees all of Interlake's fiscal matters. He also works with staff and committee members to develop the annual budget.

Board Members

Voting members’ duties include regularly attending Board meetings to take part in planning and evaluation activities, participating in fundraising, remaining up-to-date and engaged on emerging needs, and actively taking part in Committee working groups. Members are generally a part of the board for at least two years.

Toni Aswegan

Toni is a member-at-large and parent to a current ICC student.
